ABOUT US
Nyansapo Labs Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research organization developing innovative educational technology solutions for low-resource contexts. Our name comes from the Adinkra symbol meaning "wisdom knot"; representing the capacity to choose the best means to attain a goal.
We combine rigorous academic research with technically robust design to create tools that work where they're needed most; in classrooms without reliable internet, electricity, or abundant resources.
Mission
To create AI-powered tools for competency and curriculum aligned teaching and learning platforms.
Vision
Targeted teaching and personalized learning for everyone.
"More than 50% of children in low and middle income countries cannot read with comprehension by age 10. This is learning poverty and it's a crisis we can solve with the right tools and approaches."

Edward Amoah
President, Nyansapo Labs
In sub-Saharan Africa, learning poverty exceeds 80%. The evidence shows we need structured pedagogy combined with teaching at the right level.
Teacher guides and student workbooks aligned to curriculum
Real-time data on what each child knows and needs
Teaching at the right level for each learner
Offline-First Mobile Platform
We deliver all three evidence-based approaches through a single mobile platform that works without internet or reliable electricity.
OUR PLATFORM
An offline-first mobile application for formative literacy assessment, designed for low-resource classrooms in Kenya and beyond.
Core functionality operates without network connectivity. Data stored locally and syncs automatically when internet becomes available.
Median assessment duration of just 45 seconds with 97.6% completion rate. Brief, game-like format suited to early-grade learners.
Letter-level mastery rates, competency distributions, and between-school variation data that directly informs differentiated instruction.
160-fold increase in weekly assessments within 5 weeks. Teacher efficiency improved significantly over time (Ο = 0.89, p = .007).
Designed for Kenya's PP1/PP2 literacy curriculum. Covers letter identification, naming, letter-sound correspondence, and phonemic awareness.
Pay-per-use cloud infrastructure means costs approach zero during inactive periods. Sustainable for education systems with limited budgets.
